This is NOT the email that I planned on writing today. However, I always reserve the right to change the play if new information emerges.
Are you not getting the number of signups that you think you deserve? I probably know why.
I have spoken with a few people who are promoting my new site,
YourViralList.com, that
are not getting signups anywhere near the system wide average. Right now, the average is 465 visitors to your referral page to generate 1 signup across all traffic sources.
Luckily, I have all the tracking to answer that question for each member. We track every visitor in great detail. If I wanted to know the visitor's shoe size, it is probably in the database somewhere. Having the tracking means that whenever someone asks that question, I can give them the definitive answer on why they aren't getting the results they want ... with statistics from their traffic to back it up.
The thing is ... the answer is always the same.
If you aren't averaging at least 1 signup for every 465 visitors, then you are probably getting large portions of your traffic from the sources on our Lowest Converting Traffic Sources list. You are also probably getting very little traffic from the sites on our Top 25 Converting Traffic Sources list.The numbers back me up ... EVERYTIME.
Makes total sense, right. Here is the problem.
The sites on the lowest converting traffic sources list are the ones that make you "feel" like you are working hard to accomplish your goal. I mean, wouldn't you rather have 1,000 visitors a day for the time you spend, rather than 100 visitors.
High volume traffic sources make you feel productive, but actually accomplish the opposite. After all, the goal isn't to get traffic ... it is to get signups. Don't measure your productivity based on how much traffic you generate, base it on how many signups you get.
Right now, our worst converting traffic source (which many people use) takes almost 8,000 visitors to get one signup. Our best converting traffic sources are converting at better than 100 visitors to 1 signup.
So if you had 100 visitors as day from the top sites then you would be getting signups everyday. If you have 1,000 visitors a day from the bottom sites, you will only get 1 signup a week.Even if you are not promoting YourViralList.com, each day you need to focus on our Top 25 list. Only after you have maximized every site on the Top 25 list for the day, do you spend any time on sites further down the list.
Spend your time where it generates the biggest result.
If you do this ... I guarantee that you will multiply the results you are getting now.
