Update Regarding PayPal

Hi,

You may have seen the news coming out of many sites in the traffic exchange and mailer world lately regarding PayPal.

October was a challenging month for those in the industry as PayPal has changed its rules and closed the accounts of many owners, big and small.  Each day, the list has grown.

Essentially, they have said that they do not want to do business with this industry.  They are used to being able to "call the shots" and they are doing so again, and hurting small home based businesses as a result.

We too have been struggling with PayPal in October, with them starting to restrict some our accounts on October 7th.  Since we are one of the higher profile owners, we got hit first.

What this means is that if you had a PayPal (non JVZoo) subscription with any of our sites, it has been, or will be cancelled.  We will be contacting you personally to setup your subscriptions again using a different payment method.  Subscriptions done through JVZoo will probably stay intact.

Many of the other owners are switching to Payza as their new payment processor.  We will not be going that route.  Payza has a very rocky history as a payment processor and I do not believe will be a viable long-term option.

I have no desire to switch payment processors on a regular basis, so we will be using PayPal on some sites (where permitted) and credit card upgrades for the rest.  We have been accepting credit cards outside of PayPal for two years already and it is stable and reliable.

It will take some time to switch all the upgrade links at the sites, so please be patient.  I will also send the new links in emails for those interested in setting up their upgrades sooner.

One final note ... in business there are always challenges.  We never know exactly what the next challenge will be, but the important part is to just deal with each one and keep moving forward.

I am certain that this attack on our industry by PayPal will have some casualties.  There will be some sites that decide that the challenge is too great.

We will not be among that group.  I appreciate the support of every single member through the good times and bad.  Every challenge has a solution and an opportunity.  We are up for all the challenges that come our way.  Bring them on!

If you have any questions, comments, or concerns about the recent happenings, please reply to this email and ask.  I am more than happy to help!
